Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 10 oz smoked sausage sliced (Andouille or kielbasa)
  • 4 cups green cabbage chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the sausage; remove and set aside.
  • Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet and season the shrimp with salt, paprika, Cajun seasoning, and black pepper; cook shrimp 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through; remove with sausage.
  • In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onion and chopped cabbage for 5 to 7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  • Add the minced garlic to the vegetables and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Return the cooked shrimp and sausage to the skillet and toss to combine; cook for 2 minutes to heat through.
  • Stir in the butter and lemon juice, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Serve over rice or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
  • Add bell peppers for a sweet flavor boost.
  • Increase Cajun seasoning or add chili flakes for more heat.
