- 1/2 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
- 10 oz smoked sausage sliced (Andouille or kielbasa)
- 4 cups green cabbage chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion sliced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the sausage; remove and set aside.
Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet and season the shrimp with salt, paprika, Cajun seasoning, and black pepper; cook shrimp 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and cooked through; remove with sausage.
In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onion and chopped cabbage for 5 to 7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
Add the minced garlic to the vegetables and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Return the cooked shrimp and sausage to the skillet and toss to combine; cook for 2 minutes to heat through.
Stir in the butter and lemon juice, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top, and serve hot.
