- 8 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 3 to 4 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 to 2 garlic cloves minced
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Pat chicken thighs dry and season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Preheat oven to 400°F and heat olive oil or melted butter in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Place chicken skin-side down in skillet and sear until skin is golden and crisp, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Flip chicken and cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes on the other side.
Sprinkle grated Parmesan evenly over the chicken and scatter minced garlic around the thighs.
Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and cheese crust is golden.
Let the chicken rest a few minutes before garnishing with fresh parsley or basil and serving warm.
- For crispier skin, broil 1 to 2 minutes at end, watch carefully.
- Add lemon juice or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
- Pair with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
- Mix Parmesan with pecorino cheese for richer taste.
