Equipment

  • 1 microwave-safe bowl for melting chocolate
  • 1 bowl for soaking strawberries
  • 1 parchment paper for setting dipped strawberries

Ingredients
  

  • 12 –15 large fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup liqueur rum, Baileys, Amaretto, Grand Marnier, or vodka
  • 1 tbsp sugar optional
  • 7 oz 200 g dark or milk chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or butter for shine
  • white chocolate drizzle optional
  • crushed nuts optional
  • sprinkles optional

Instructions
 

  • Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly.
  • Place strawberries in a bowl with liqueur and optional sugar. Cover and refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Drain strawberries and pat completely dry to ensure chocolate adhesion.
  • Melt chopped chocolate and coconut oil or butter in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
  • Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Place dipped strawberries on parchment paper and add optional toppings while chocolate is still wet.
  • Refrigerate strawberries for 20 to 30 minutes until chocolate is firm.
  • Serve chilled for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are dry before dipping for chocolate to stick well.
  • Do not soak strawberries longer than 2 hours to avoid softness.
  • Use different flavored liqueurs for variety.
  • Store finished strawberries in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
