Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • oil for frying or baking
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  • Add milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
  • Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough to ½-inch thickness.
  • Cut dough using a doughnut cutter or round cutter.
  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry doughnuts for 1 minute per side until golden brown.
  • Drain fried doughnuts on paper towels.
  • Alternatively, bake doughnuts at 375°F (190°C) for 10–12 minutes.
  • Mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth to make the glaze.
  • Dip warm doughnuts into chocolate glaze and let set.
  • Serve warm with milk or coffee.

Notes

  • Add sprinkles for decoration.
  • Fill doughnuts with Nutella or cream for variation.
  • Use dark chocolate in glaze for richer flavor.
  • Air-fry at 350°F for 8 minutes as a healthier alternative.
  • Store doughnuts in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
