1 baking sheet
1 medium bowl
1 knife
- 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup Swiss cheese shredded or sliced
- 1 can 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (optional)
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, mix shredded chicken, diced ham, Swiss cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and optional parsley until evenly combined.
Unroll the crescent roll dough onto the prepared baking sheet and press seams together to form one rectangle.
Using a knife, cut 1-inch strips along both sides of the dough, leaving the center intact for the filling.
Spread the chicken and ham mixture evenly down the center strip of the dough.
Fold the side strips over the filling alternately from left to right to form a braided pattern; press ends to seal.
Brush the top of the braid with the beaten egg for a golden, shiny crust.
Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until the braid is golden brown and flaky.
Allow the braid to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
- Use rotisserie chicken for quick prep.
- Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds or bagel seasoning before baking.
