Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder optional
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or blend
  • Optional garnish: grated Parmesan lemon zest, or chopped parsley

Instructions
 

  • Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the green beans for 4 to 5 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant without browning.
  • Pour in heavy cream and stir gently to combine.
  • Add shredded cheese and stir until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Season the sauce with salt, black pepper, and onion powder if using.
  • Add the cooked green beans to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the cheesy garlic sauce. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until heated through.
  • Serve warm, garnished with Parmesan, lemon zest, or chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use sharp cheddar for bold flavor or mozzarella for creaminess.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers to enhance texture.
  • Lighten with half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Broil 2–3 minutes for a crisp cheese topping.
