Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 to 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta elbows or preferred shape
  • 3 cups shredded cheese cheddar or a blend
  • 2 to 3 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • Optional: diced pickles extra ketchup, mustard, or sliced tomatoes for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat until browned.
  • Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, onion powder, mustard, and ketchup to the beef; simmer briefly then remove from heat.
  • Cook pasta in boiling salted water until just al dente, then drain.
  • Whisk together milk and eggs in a large bowl.
  • Combine cooked pasta and beef mixture with the milk-egg mixture.
  • Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and evenly sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  • Let the casserole cool slightly before serving with optional toppings like pickles, ketchup, or mustard.

Notes

  • Use a cheddar-Monterey Jack cheese blend for better melt and flavor.
  • Add bell peppers or mushrooms to the beef for more veggies.
  • Assemble the casserole the night before and bake when ready.
