Equipment

  • 1 skillet for cooking beef and grilling sandwiches
  • 1 spatula for pressing sandwich while grilling

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder optional
  • 1 tsp onion powder optional
  • 8 slices bacon cooked and crisped
  • 8 slices bread your choice
  • 8 slices cheese cheddar, American, or your favorite
  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles tomato, onion, lettuce
  • Butter or mayo for grilling

Instructions
 

  • Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up until browned and fully cooked; season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drain excess fat.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice or spread mayo. On the unbuttered side, layer beef, cheese slice, crispy bacon, and any optional toppings.
  • Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Heat skillet or griddle over medium heat. Grill sandwiches 3 to 4 minutes per side, until bread is golden and cheese melts, pressing gently with a spatula.
  • Slice each melt in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use cheddar or American cheese for best melt and flavor.
  • Add ketchup, mustard, or burger sauce for extra taste.
  • Sautéed onions or mushrooms make great add-ins.
  • Serve with fries, chips, or a crisp salad for a complete meal.
