- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder optional
- 1 tsp onion powder optional
- 8 slices bacon cooked and crisped
- 8 slices bread your choice
- 8 slices cheese cheddar, American, or your favorite
- Optional toppings: sliced pickles tomato, onion, lettuce
- Butter or mayo for grilling
Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up until browned and fully cooked; season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drain excess fat.
Butter one side of each bread slice or spread mayo. On the unbuttered side, layer beef, cheese slice, crispy bacon, and any optional toppings.
Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
Heat skillet or griddle over medium heat. Grill sandwiches 3 to 4 minutes per side, until bread is golden and cheese melts, pressing gently with a spatula.
Slice each melt in half and serve warm.
